Το αποτέλεσµα ήταν η ΕΕ να διολισθήσει στην πολιτική Ορµπάν, µε την Αυστρία να κάνει τη βρόµικη δουλειά για το κλείσιµο του βαλκανικού διαδρόµου και τη µετατόπιση του ευρωπαϊκού συνόρου από το Αιγαίο στην Ειδοµένη. Το βιβλίο φωτίζει τον ρόλο της FRONTEX, του ΝΑΤΟ και των ΜΚΟ, ανατέµνει την ευρωτουρκική συµφωνία και ανιχνεύει τις επιπτώσεις από τον εγκλωβισµό στην Ελλάδα δεκάδων χιλιάδων ταλαιπωρηµένων. Το προσφυγικό-μεταναστευτικό δεν είναι αποκλειστικά ανθρωπιστικό πρόβληµα. Έχει και µία δεύτερη δυσάρεστη όψη: προκαλεί κοινωνικές παρενέργειες και προβλήµατα δηµόσιας ασφάλειας. Είναι αυτή η δυσάρεστη όψη που µε την πάροδο του χρόνου αναδύεται.
